I belong to a group that does a Holiday Breakfast with Santa each year. We have previously had hash brown patties, but have the problem with them sticking together after they are cooked and waiting to be served. I suggested using bulk hash browns. After cooking them, how can be keep them crispy and warm while waiting to be served?

you might want to try the shredded hash browns instead of the patties because once they are cooked it's hard to keep them crispy like when they were freshly cooked. with the shredded ones, you can use a sterno warmer and just keep tossing them for even heating.....nice name too, that's also my REAL name:)

If you are making them from raw potatoes then once the potatoes are grated into hash browns rinse them really good to rinse off alot of the starch then put them on a clean towel or paper towels and wrap up tightly and squeeze out alot of their excess water. This will make the hash brown not stick while cooking them and serving them.

After they cook, put the patties/mounds on a sheet pan and keep them warm in a 250-300 oven. They won't cook a whole lot more, and if anything they get a little crispier.

Hash browns are meant to be served as soon as it gets off the stove. Plan it so that they are served right off the skillet.

Just give them to me and you won't have to keep them warm.
