Alcohol percentage list in about 20 years ago?

Hi, iam curious about a Beer. What is the alcohol percentation(%) in most beer about 20 years ago? is the percentage same as todays?
and if defferent, what makes it different from that time? is it because the society preferences or something else?

20 years ago beers were made by individual companies, just like today. Therefore the percent of alcohol in beer would vary just as greatly as they do today.
