I was looking at the news while getting ready to go to work so I am not sure. But I think I heard that if your flying there that you will need a passport, but as far as car travel they won't initiate that until 2009. I was just wondering because some friends of mine were planning on going there in the summer. And if we have to get a passport I want to get it out of the way now. Thanks for your answers.

Air travel you will definitly need it. Car travel it is strongly advised as you can have serious problems if they choose to give you a hard time. You are better off getting one if you can.

Yes take one - years ago we were traveling into Canada just to get my passport stamped and my friend only had her drivers license - we had no problem getting into Canada but major problems getting back to the US - it is required.
