If you want to add a bit more color, maybe have the Groom's vest be black and the groomsmen's be pink? in the end, so long as your hubby to be is happy with the choice, then you should be good to go.

I'm not a fan of black tuxes myself. Also, I think it looks slightly more organized when the groom has something slightly more flashy than the groomsmen. It helps to draw everyone's attention to him and not just the bride.
I chose a charcoal color jacket with a white undershirt and silver vest and tie for myself for my wedding. The groomsmen had the same jackets and shirts, but had lavender vests and ties to match the bridesmaids' dresses. My wife trusts my tastes in clothing enough that she let me pick out the tuxes without her (I had my groomsmen with me though). She didn't see the tuxes until our wedding day. It made her nervous not knowing exactly what they looked like, but she loved the end result.
Everyone loved the color choices and we got compliments about them from pretty much everyone in attendance.

Sounds very nice. The guys in my daughter's wedding all wore black with light blue ties and the girls were in light blue. The only thing different was the groom wore a grey tux instead of black so he was different from the guys. Congrats.

I think that it is just fine for the guys to wear black, and it is not too much. Matching ties are great. Do what you want it is your wedding. Best Wishes! Have a Wonderful wedding!

My bridesmaids are wearing black with silver. The groomsmen are wearing black with silver. As long as you're getting married in the late afternoon/evening, or in fall or winter, it's perfectly acceptable.

yeah, I agree that it'll be cute just the way you said. That's not too much black. And pls don't let your m-i-l make these type of changes in your wedding cause in the end, you're gonna look back and say, gosh, I shouldve left it the what that it was an dat that point its gonna be too late.Just do it the way you visualized it.

One of my best friends did the same thing only the dresses and ties were red instead of pink. It looked really classy. I loved it. You should go with it.

What??? Does she expect them to dress in Tearose as well?
Tell that crazy lady that the men always wear tuxedos and they are always black.
You are right, she is wrong.
