Ok heres the deal, i started going to the gym a couple of months ago and suddenly one day after running for an hour on the running mill thingie as soon as i got off it My head felt like it was going to explode because of pressure.. anyway i ignored it for a few days but i couldn't anymore coz i had constant headaches and head pressure.. now i thought it might be something with my neck since whenever i turn to look the other way i hear cracking sounds from the bones.. Im definitely going to go to the doctor but im kinda freaked out a bit.. i was wondering if anyone has heard of similar symptoms and the thing thats causing them...Oh and one thing that seems to help is laying down with my back/neck straight thanks in advance!.

I had a similar experience and when I had it checked turns out it was caused by elevated blood pressure.

Make sure you do get checked.

I have similar problems. I am cracking all the time. Turns out that my C3 is pinching a nerve, which may be your problem. You probably need an adjustment by a chiropractor. The pinched nerve and the misalignment causes pressure at the base of your head, giving you headaches. I've noticed this most when I exercise, doing any sort of activity that involves jostling the neck. It will get worse over time unless treated.

What happened is that your neck and shoulder muscles have tightened up from the running. When you run your shoulders kind of pull up toward your ears. In doing so you are constantly flexing them. This causes them to tighten up. This is the pressure you are feeling. The tightened muscles put pressure on the nerves in your neck. This pressure is also on the bones in your neck which is pulling on the vertebrate. That is where the cracking sounds are coming from. I'm no DR. but I would confidently put money on my theory/diagnosis. I have gone through the same thing. I recommend A LOT of stretching, talk to the trainer, or sports therapist at your gym, if none of that works a chiropractor. Good luck and happy workouts.

The head pressure and headache as well as some neck involvement is often consistent with sinus problems. Get it checked as you planned.
