Go to the court where the warrant was issued. Take a copy of the bond as your proof that the warrant was taken care of. If the warrant has not be reissued for some reason, the court will recall it on the spot. Better yet, call and complain to the bond company who posted your bail bond. They likely have connections to the court that will get the warrant taken care of without you going in. That is what you hired them, and paid them, for.

If you don't do that and you get stopped by the police, you risk going back to jail as the officers will not likely take the time to look into the warrant for you.

Go to the police station that has the warrant in place. Bring your bond papers; it should have a docket number or case number on it. Until you get it cleared up, keep those papers with you; even a traffic stop could turn into a trip to prison if the warrant still shows as active.

How do you know that the warrant is still active? Check your source; it takes some police departments days or even weeks to notify NCIC or III that the warrant either has been served or should be vacated.

Another possibility is that you do have an additional warrant, either for a Probation or Parole violation (since you have been arrested for something else), or you may have missed a court date and have an additional warrant for Failure to Appear. If that's the case, calling the Police Department may be better than showing up in person :)

Is this warrant for the same offense you just bonded out on?? If so then check with the clerk and have it cleared, and if not, oh well, you can always bond out again?????
