Have both of these dogs had all their health checks done? Have brucellosis tests been done? Is the female even at the right stage in her cycle - that means, standing heat? Since you don't know anything about breeding, you shouldn't be doing it!! Exactly what, if anything, do you know about looking after a pregnant female? Helping her whelp? Looking after a new born litter?

Given the amount of dogs bred by back yard breeders being killed at shelters daily, don't you think you should be spaying yours?

You can help by not adding to the already HUGE number of staffies destroyed each year because too many people who didn't know what they were doing bred them.

You can help by finding out about breeding BEFORE actually doing so. You obviously don't know what you are doing, otherwise you wouldn't need to ask. Clearly the owner of the sire is no more knowledgeable - if they were then THEY could have helped.

Take a trip to your local POUND (not rescue) and ask how many perfectly healthy dogs they have to destroy because there is no home for them. Ask how many are of the breed you are trying to create.

You can help by getting your dogs neutered.

Do you have any idea how many staffy's are put down every year by shelters? They are the number 1 dog breed to end up at a pound. DO NOT breed your dog. The world doesnt need anymore death. Over 100 000 dogs are put down in Australia alone every year, and dont even get me started on the U.S!

Chances are your b1tch is not ready for mating or they are both maidens. Most importantly, have the dogs had all the relevent health checks? You do realise you could be sued by the new owners is the pups subsequently develop an inherited disease.
Do you know how many SBT are already in Rescue?

Why breed her? Leave the breeding to professionals. Only the experienced should be breeding their animals. After reading the following links, you may understand why. So many things can go wrong from the female turning aggressive towards the male trying to connect with her to pyometra to stillborn births to emergency c-section to the mom killing the babies, etc. Spaying her is the healthiest life you can give her. Please read the following links.

***Twilights*** education is lacking on your part ...not only is spaying and neutering HEALTHIER for your dogs, but click on the above links and see what you think. The videos are reality. And to think, the shelters in the video aren't even showing the half of it! Educate yourself and you might feel differently. Watch the horrors that can and do happen during mating or whelping. Watch a mother die on the operating table with a litter stuck inside her uterus because an ignorant owner didn't realize the pet was in danger and waited to long to bring the pet into the vet

Why have you censored the word '*****'?
There really is no need and i don't think you are offending peoples sensibilities. When used to describe a female dog then it is absolutely the correct word to use.
in answer to your question, the dog may have a problem with it's penis. Your ***** may have a problem with her vagina.
Get them checked by a vet.

UPDATE>>>This is outrageous. when i type in the word which some people spell 'BEATCH' it's automatically censored when previewed and i can't change it back.
There's a complaint on it's way ..........

Dogs go on heat for 21 days, they will only accept a male from about the 10th day, til about the 13th day, then she will ignore him again. You will know when she is ready to mate, she will lift her bottom to the boys to encourage them on to mount her. They will probably mate continuously for a few days until that specific mating time is over.

Please try to find homes for the puppies if you can. Staffys have big litters too, my mums dog just had 8!! With having so many puppies the dog may not cope very well either. If you are not intending to breed them, maybe sterilisation would be a good idea.

Best of luck!

Don't breed her.
To many of these puppies and dogs are being killed daily becasue they have no homes.

We are trying to pull 10 puppies out of a high kill shelter that gasses animals in a kill box. We don't need more puppies being born to die!

If you don't know your not ready to have puppies. Next question I see from you will be "Oh no one of the puppies got stuck, I pulled on it and ripped mommies uterus out. What should I do? It's lying on the floor" Oh wait....mommies dead. I'm tired of dead dogs, so don't breed. Leave it to those of us who know what we are doing.

You can help by not introducing them again and taking both of them to be fixed ASAP. BYB makes me SICK.
