Microsoft Word will not show the image I inserted!!?

I am not a new user with MS Word, but this is a new problem for me. For whatever reason, MS Word will not show the image I inserted into my page. I have tried different views (normal vs. print), I have tried formatting. Now it will not even let me format the picture! I cannot complete my document unless I can see the layout and the picture. I know it's there, because the placeholders are there, but I cannot see the image itself. Please help me if you can.

Oh, and in case this is asked. The image is coming from the clipart organizer. I also tried images from my pictures and online. No luck.

I had the picture placeholders unchecked to begin with, so I checked it to see if that would help. It didn't, of course. So either way doesn't work. Thanks...
