I tend to buy McCoys multi pack's which include

2x salted,2x cheddar & onion and 2x salt & malt vinegar.

Although I can take the odd pack of salt & malt vinegar mainly they just get binned.

Is there any way possible to remove the vinegar from the crisps as to make them platible just like the salted variety.

I've tryed steeping them in water then putting them in the oven with some success but mainly most remain soggy and I bin them anyway.

Any tips would be helpful

Thank's

King_Badger might be on to something there. I've never done it but the theory is there.

Vinegar is an acid and baking soda is a base. Technically bases and acids in the right proportions neutralize one another. So, theoretically you should be able to reduce the sourness and if you overdo the baking soda, aid yourself in any reflux or heartburn problems at the same time too!

You can but try.

My advice is to experiment with the quanity of baking soda first. Start with two or three pinches of baking soda, shake well, then give it half an hour or so for the vinegar to react with the bicarbonate. Try a bit and see if it's enough then do it again until you find the right amount. If you overdo the baking soda you might find yourself burping lots.

If you find that they end up tasting a little too 'soda-ree' you could also try sprinkling a chicken oxo cube or some powdered chicken stock on them.

Personally, I'd stock pile them and do a bunch at a time and store them in a airtight container.

Have fun!

i usually mix 1 pack salt n vinigar with 2 other flavour and mix well in a air tight container that way the vinigar ones are more diluted and the crisps stay crisp

if you spray them with Hugo Boss it counter acts the vinegar and gets rid of the taste thus keeping the saltiness that you so crave for. have a good weekend. over and out.
