Are you enjoying the fact that this many people took you seriously? I think you might need a different hobby.

No, you are being a jack***. Your son is scared of the dark because you were stupid enough to let him watch a movie that has been voted as the scariest movie in the world and has an R rating all over it.
You were the one that caused the problem and now you are the one that will have to deal with it.
Start by putting in a nightlight in his room, make sure that you keep the door open and the hall light on. Try designating a toy to be his "night buddy" to make him feel safe. Give him a signal alert you that he is scared (such as a bell, buzzer, etc) which will work a lot better and be a lot less annoying then him yelling for you constantly.
You are just a moron, so I doubt you will do anything but what you threatened to do and simply screw up your kid even more.

First of all, The Exorcist; isn't appropriate for a 6 year old to watch!! No wonder the boy is scared to death!!! Secondly, locking your 6 year old son in a room is out of this world!!
The best thing you can do, is NOT to let him watch anything over the rating of G & NO VIOLENCE!!! And, start establishing a BEDTIME ROUTINE: a hot bath, a nice cup of hot cocoa, and reading a bedtime story CAN HELP.

No, you cannot scare a child into NOT being scared. That doesn't really make any sense. I would give him a little night light or do a "check" of his bedroom when you tuck him in at night to verify that there is nothing in the dark that isn't already there in the light.
I used to leave the hall light on for my kids and each of them had a small flashlight that they could keep under their pillows! (This is also pretty convenient for if they get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom without waking up the entire house!)

He will grow out of it if you don't keep bugging him about it. Just get the kid a night light or ask him what will make him feel safe. What's the big deal? Quit being so controlling! You're a punk and stupid for letting him watch that movie! He is a 6 year old little boy!

NO!! U ARE SO MEAN! YOUR CHILD WILL SUFFER THIS HIS ENTIRE LIFE IF YOU DO THAT!
Besides what kind of parents lets a child watch the exorcist!? thats freaky even to some adults ofcourse a child will be horified.
Stupid move there.
Instead, sleep with him couple of nights, put on the night lamp, read funny stories, or watch funny movies that will help divert the young childs mind. Sing to him while he falls asleep. Do something. and do it fast before he becomes a phobia!!

at our house before bed we go monster hunting before bed. first he puts his toys a way then shut lights and take our flash lights looking around the room like under the bed. he gets to keep his flash light by his bed so if he gets sacred during the night he can shine it on anything. he also has a night light.

Are you nuts??? you need to start being a parent and take care of your child.......he should NOT have been allowed to watch that movie and since you are the one who screwed up and let him they YOU are the one that has to help him get over it by staying with him in his room until he understands that nothing is going to happen to him. you will probably need a nightlight for him to.
you need help. someone should call protective services on you for CHILD ABUSE.

Surely you're not serious?
Get him a nightlite and be supportive.
Don't stick the child in front of a movie about Satan and then threaten him with it.
What the hell is wrong with you?
