i have a 4 month old pitbull and have had her for about 2 months now. She has had all her shots and she has been checked out by the vet a couple of times and they say she is in perfect health. Well, a couple of weeks after i got her i seen this what looked to be like a dirt on her stomach so i tried to wipe it off and it wont come off. and i noticed she has two dirt looking spots on her stomach by her legs. I say dirt spots cuz it looks like it's dirt but it's not, it wont come off. It looks red and theres like a little pimple of the of the spots. She has 3 spots and there not gettin any smaller. anyone have an idea of what this is? or how i can treat it?

I have a Pit and have had a few others in the past. My dogs have been sensitive to allergens and it was/is not uncommon for them to get skin rashes or 'foliculitus' an infected hair follicle that looks like a zit . There is a topical medication I have had good results with(Gentocine Spray) .I try to avoid steroids like prednisone, that seems to be a first choice of Vets .You should really see the Vet ,if it is allergy you'll need to be prepared ,the best way to deal with it ,is right away before it gets out of hand.

First I would have it checked by the vet to make sure its not a skin infection or mites. If that shows no results, I have a Red nosed Pit Bull that I have had for six years and she does this. After many vet trips, she was diagnosed with skin allergys. I know this sounds like something that a poodle would have, but she is allergic to grass, perfumed shampoos, fleas, and even anything that I put on thi carpet to make it fresh. Good Luck! Pit Bulls make wonderful pets.

It could be a simple skin problem. My pitbull mix has trouble with her skin that we easily manage by giving her the right kind of dog food. We use a dog food that is high in omega 3 fatty acids. A simple way to see if a food is high in omega 3, just look on the ingredients and see if salmon is one of the first ingredients.

It might be yeast. My dog gets it. I suggest you starting wiping it twice a day with a half water half white vinger solution. That should help. You probably need to take her to the vet for medicated wipes as well.

It could be skin irritation, but I am not sure. I give my dog Brewers Yeast pills (they are chewable and my dog thinks they are daily treats) that help with skin and coat problems. Brewers yeast is also a natural way to ward off fleas, although it does not replace flea medications.

sounds like it could be mites but she still needs to see a vet for tests either way
