I'm working on a meal plan that calls for a palm sized portion of protein at eat meal, but I need more ideas as I don't want to eat fish every other day. haha

Thanks!

I meant 'at EACH' meal, not 'eat' meal. :P

yogurt, tofu, soy products, cheese , and nuts are a good source of protein.

Beans and rice is a complete protein (all your happy little amino acids!), vegetarian, and low fat. Wrap that up in a whole wheat tortilla with some salsa and you are set.

Chili is a great way to have some beans - skip the meat and add twice the tomatoes and fresh veggies and it is relatively low in calories and high in protein and fiber.

Google vegetarian protein - you'll find a bunch of sources of low-fat protein. Dairy products have protein too (milk and cheese - look for no-fat or low-fat options). Turkey is wonderful, and it doesn't have to be ground. Cook up a bird anytime (or just the breast), have it for sandwiches, put it on salads. Dice it up and use it in place of chicken. Fish doesn't have to be every other day, but twice a week gives you all the Omega-3 fatty acids that you need.

Good luck!

Tempeh, Tofu and Seitan are good. Beans are great because there are many different variety available and they keep for a long time without refridgeration. Lentils are my favorite. Peanut Butter is also high in protein and easy to include in your meals. Try apples or another fruit with just a little peanut butter on top. That is a great afternoon snack that will help you make it to dinner. I also like this drink mix called Spiru-tein.

The best source of protein is rice with a light protein sauce.
