This is a great place to look for more info. Basically though smoth muscle is the non-striated muscle that makes up the "hollow" areas in your body, intestines etc. The muscle cells are spindle-shaped and have singular nuclei.

Smooth muscles are muscles that were not designed to be able to be flexed, like your penis. Every other muscle can be flexed and is not considered smooth muscle. Biceps, triceps, laterals, neck, gluteous maximus, thigh, calf, etc.

smooth muscle is the muscle which can work automatically, controlled by your brain, not your will. it can work even when you sleep to maintain normal condition of living. eg: intestines, heart, lung, etc.
