I'd also like to know if this type of drinking hurts my chances of becoming pregnant later....say, 3 years from now.

Yes. You are "binge drinking". This type of drinking is potentially very damaging to, not only the liver, but also to the brain and other organs. Your liver performs many hundreds of functions which affect many areas in the body. A damaged liver can take up to 3x as long to repair itself as compared to the length of the drinking time. Ex. Heavy, even moderate drinking which causes damage for 10 years may take as much as 20-30 years to repair itself--under professional guidance (detox, diet, herbs, vitamins, etc.).

It would be very wise for you to cease drinking, perhaps altogether. If you cannot accomplish this on your own, seek professional help. Please (for you and your potential child's sake), don't even think about becoming pregnant, until you have put this problem behind you, permanently. You will be able to lead a much happier and healthier life in the future.

Good luck to you.

Yes you are causing damage when you drink heavy even if it is just once a week. Alcohol is hard on the liver no matter how much you drink.

Binge drinking is just as if not even more harmful to the liver compared to heavy consumption. Your liver does have the capacity to heal itself after this damage occurs, but this capacity is limited. A 3yr waiting period between abstinence and pregnancy will go a long way towards having a healthy baby.

You might be. Some people can drink like a fish with no damage. But there are alao people in their 20's who die from liver failure by binge drinking on weekends.

Huh. Sterilization is extreme. yet giving delivery to a newborn with FAS might want to finally take a tax on society, so perchance we would want to continuously nip it interior the bud and do something like forbid the sale of alchohol to pregnant females. it will do about as a lot good as banning the sale of M rated video games to childrens, although that is likely in-the-center adequate to save all and diverse satisfied.
