It made my arm very sore, hot and itchy for around a week but other than that I had no ill effects. You can get cold like symptoms with it but its a fallacy that it can give you the flu...it wont! The flu virii are inactivated and NOT capable of causing the disease;

I got a flu shot and got the flu symptoms for about a week. The flu symptoms are nasal congestion sore throat and weekness. A doctor will tell you that this can happen. It is uncomfortable, but not as bad as the flu. Not all people get this

The only thing that they warn you against is to not get the flu shot if you have any signs or symptoms of being sick. The only thing I can think of is a bruise at the injection site.

actually, yeah... A friends mother had a flu shot for work and it made her really sick, she turned into a vegetable- seriously. She couldnt move or speak, she ended up in hospital having to learn to talk and move properly, she lost all sense of co-ordination.
I don't want to scare you, but no one expected that to happen and maybe it was just how her body reacted to the shot, just ask your doctor first just incase it can happen to anyone.

I've never had any problems, but my mother will not get one, she ends up with the flu anyway. So she thinks the shot makes her sick. Go figure?!

well, it's nothing more then the actual virus cells ground up and in a solution, so you may experience some red swelling in the injection site, as well as some of the symptoms of the Flu by milder case.
