They are politically grandstanding. They form their opinion by polls. I have heard the same thing the man in the article says at VA hospitals.

I'll go ahead and say, roughly 17:56 GMT May 17th, 2008--so that would make it about a year and 4 months from now.

But really, that is just a rough estimate, so take my answer with a grain of salt.

In all honesty though, it's merely a matter of public perspective--in spite of the reality of the situation. If constituents are unhappy, shouldn't it follow that their representative would reflect that opinion? No, it shouldn't, but it does in many cases. This one is no different. Obama, though, boy, isn't he the consummate orator?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I don't want to upset anyone, but neither one will be president. First, Hillary is a woman, im sure she has a good plan for the country and could do the job, but remember who else is in the world besides us, who would have a problem with a woman president. To those countries, it would make us an easier target to try another attack on our soil. Secondly, for Obama, a rookie senator, and even his name could be an issue. People are outspoken for him now, but remember, no one is in the booth with you when you actually do vote. Just my opinion, i could be wrong, but we'll see.

Wrong about what? That this is a war we cannot win? That this economy is only benefiting the rich while the middle class sees its base being whittled away? It is easy to call someone wrong without any facts to back you up. When you finally gain some knowledge perhaps you might ask a sensible question and understand the reasons Hillary and Obama are popular; they are not willing to rubber stamp the mistakes this administration continues to make.

Maybe this "soldier" was so impressed by his "teas" with Sheiks that his "view" has been a little compromised. I still think my family's life is too precious to be sacrificed for oil and those that benefit from its revenues. Bring the troops home!

That article is rife with contradictions.
They want peace, but they keep killing each other in what is leading up to a civil war.
A civil war that we have no interest in.
We did what we came to do.
We have given them methods and resources to make their country better.
It IS time to come home.
Or else this WILL become another Vietnam.

Well, that is one point of view. Read the others as well. No matter what you say, the war is ultimately about controlling the oil, both here & there.

Democrats Hillary and Obama will probably never realize that they are wrong. If either one is elected they will put this country in a downward spiral. They will reverse all of the gains that the two Bush administrations have accomplished.

they won't, they are in some kind of bubble, now you know that many democrats can't stand the military, many of them don't even think a US military is necessary, they live in a fantasy world or something
