OK so there are things you could have done better to keep the kitchen from burning. Well let me tell you as an adult I have left many a thing cooking and have forgotten about it to find it either ablaze or at least the smoke alarm going off when I came back. It is a common mistake, and one that should be forgiven. Where are you parents hun? A mistake like this does not require grounding, it requires you being taught how to properly cook and not allow you using the stove until you do, it is hardly a capital crime.

What needs to be done is you need to go to a counselor at school or an adult friend in whom you can trust, and have them help you talk to your sister. Wanting to get a job at your age is fine, and most children start out af fast food restraunts are in the mall. I do not know where you are from so it is hard for me to say exactly what job would suit you so just get out there and look. Some places will train as you go. Also stay in school just work part time. Make sure you get to college as well.

I am sorry this is happening, but don't blame yourself to much for the mistake, and don't be afraid to talk to an adult, your sister's parenting skills probably leave a lot to be desired and maybe she just needs some help.

I have been a chef for years and have done things like that, although I know not to put water on it, cover it with something, a blanket or sand or similar, water will usaully make a fat fire much worse. My son has done it, I have seen it plenty of times. Turkeys left in the oven overnight. EVERYONE makes mistakes its nothing to do with being irresponsible. Thats how you learn your lessons, wrap you up in cotton wool and how will you fend when you are 21?

I think that you should go and talk to a counselor or social worker about this. Those can give you the best advice and not here. gdluck
