ure friend should check under the dogs paw. if the dog is in pain take to the vet immediatly. i think tomorrow morning would be better than waiting until monday, in case it gets worse. always be safe than sorry!!!! esp when it comes to dogs, u have to look after them!!

Go to the vet it could be all sorts of problems such as a foreign body (embedded grass seed, metal, glass etc), damage to the foot (cut, broken bone, ligament damage etc) or a disease problem (arthritis, bone cancer etc). One thing that I have seen a few times that has caused a poor suffering dog to limp.. is silly people walking a dog on bitumen (tar) and or concrete walkways on stinking hot days. Take your shoes off and try it yourself you end up hopping around with burnt feet think of the poor suffering dogs.
Perhaps the walker is taking the dog away somewhere (maybe with other dogs to save time) and walking them on hot bitumen or concrete.
Check with the vet first but if too expensive get a friend or relative to park in the street at dog walking time and see if the dog is being taken out of the yard- if not you really will need to see a vet.

First check its paws then if you cant see anything take it to the vets especially if its an old dog.. i had a 14 yr old dog who developed a limp in its back leg and left it to late..when i took her to the vet they discovered she was riddled with cancer and there was nothing they could do..the dogs probably just knocked it or something but better to be safe than sorry as they say..good luck.

While it may be something simple such as she stepped on a thorn or pebble, it could be much more. As for glass in the foot, I would think there would be at least some bleeding if that were the case. I know my dog is quite stoic when it comes to pain, so if I notice something amiss, I at the very least call my vet and usually end up taking her in just to be sure. My feeling is better safe than sorry when it comes to my pet's health.

Glass in the foot means that there is an open wound that needs to be cleaned and dressed. If left unchecked, It could and most likley will result in gang green and the dog will lose the leg or die. So, YES get the dog to the vet.

I wish you had given more info on this, like the age of the dog etc., if it is old it could be arthritus just with old age, or if it is younger it could be a sprain or like you say something in the paw. As a breeder I would say take it to the vets and find out what is wrong, especially if he loves the dog, it could be something that goes worse.

If she has glass in her foot, it's an open wound that can get infected very easily. To be honest, I'm really surprised she hasn't been to the vet already. You don't want her walking around with glass in her foot. Poor Baby! Think of how much pain she's in. Please don't put it off any longer, because if she does get an infection, she's going to be in alot more pain, and have major problems with her foot. Please take her in to your vet and have her treated, as soon as possible. It's so unfair to the dog, not to.

Depends on how bad the limp is.
If she is bearing some weight I'd wait and see. If not see a vet.
