It may well vary from institution to institution, but as a general guide the class equivalents are:
1st = 70% and higher
2.1 = 60-69%
2.2 = 50-59%
3 = 40-49%
Some institutions may also offer a Pass for a mark between 35=39%
Final Classification is usually worked out over an average of modules taken, and there may be other considerations too. For example, where I teach, in order to gain a 2.2 students must pass 8 modules at 2.2 or above, and the average across all the modules must be within 2% (so an average overall modules of 48%).
Your college or university will be able to explain how they classify your degree.

When I was studying (7 years ago) I seem to remember the following:
First: 70%+
2:1: 60-69%
2:2: 50-59%
I remember thinking 70% was quite low at the time...didn't help me get there though! I may be wrong, however.

Why are you judging the British academic equipment by what different languages human beings can talk? English is a international language so there are going to be those who can talk English fairly fluently, in different international places. remember there are topics except languages and human beings gained't unavoidably opt for a language to study, so in case you quite had to ascertain no matter if the British academic equipment 'sucks', why no longer seem at files at the same time with the range of folk illiterate in this u . s . a .. i for my section imagine the academic equipment is a lot extra distinct in Britain than different international places as there are classes for distinct human beings, e.g. vocational and academic classes. even with the reality that, i ought to assert, i for my section imagine that there is a lack of self-discipline in some colleges in Britain, in recent times. even as i became in Sri Lanka, I save in recommendations being scared stiff of the headteacher so I behaved good (nonetheless do). anybody dreaded a call to the numerous' s workplace so in no way misbehaved! (besides the undeniable fact that, this did not provide up us having a sturdy time in college, making pals and assisting one yet another.)
