The sacrificial shedding of a lamb's blood in the Old Testament didn't forgive sins. It was more like being let out on bail in a criminal trial. You still have to face the judge. People who lived and died prior to Jesus' death and resurrection had no claim to heaven. They were out on bail.
Jesus is called the Lamb of God because He shed His blood for you and me. And because He led a sinless life, He was the perfect sacrifice, the only one who could set you free.
But what is faith to you. For the believing Christian, it's faith that Jesus, as the judge, will not just release you on bail, but totally set you free. If you love God with all your heart, repent of your sins and ask forgiveness, you will be set free.
Because you're only human, you will continue to sin, though hopefully not as much and you will continue to be forgiven if you ask for it from the heart.

As a Christian, I believe that it is what's in your heart most of all. God knows your true motives, and if you are just going through the motions of clensing your sins, he will know it. Love and faith are great, but there needs to be repentance. That is when you seek Gods will and when you fall you are sorry. I feel like you should ask forgivness, and then turn away from whatever it was that was wrong. If you just keep on doing it, then are you really sorry.

Sacrificing a sheep will only work if you are a Levite, and have a temple to do it in. It would probably be easier to trust in the sacrifice of the Messiah. His name is Yahoshua. His name means YHVH is my Savior. It is His grace that saves you. You receive that grace through faith, but faith does not save you. If you have been saved from sin, you are headed Home with Him. Praise His Name! We are saved from the penalty of sin. He has promised to save us from the power of sin, and soon we will be saved from the presence of sin.

Animal sacrifice was a pagan tradition. Isaiah 66. That's why God tried to clean it up. Having the priests who did purification rituals before and after sacrificing do the sacrifices. To the Final Blood Sacrifice, Jesus Christ.
In fact, it's because of all the negative energies created by killing on our world that Christ had to die like He did. To purge our World of these negative energies. It's in Hebrews somewhere. The Heavens had to take on the way things were done on the Earth.
What we bind on Earth is bound in Heaven, and what we loose on Earth is loosed in Heaven. Everything is Connected as they say today.

Jesus paid for our sins once for all time. It is one of the reasons his sacrifice is called the "better" sacrifice. It didn't need to be repeated on an annual basis.
However, what you need to do is learn what God expects of you through a study of the bible so you as an individual can have the value of that perfect sacrifice applied to you.
Best!!

You have to obey Acts 2:38 to acheive salvation. Animal sacrifice was done away with at the Cross, so obedience is our sacrifice today.

No, Jesus was the final sacrifice for sin....without him you are hopeless...according to Scripture.
" I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life; no man can come to the Father except through me". -- Jesus Christ (Jn. 14:6)
" Neither is there salvation in any other; for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved". (Acts 4:12)
"... you shall die in your sins: for if you believe not that I am he (Messiah, Son of God) you shall die in your sins". - Jesus (Jn. 8:24)

Jesus paid for our sins once and for all. Trust Him for your salvation. His blood is the perfect sacrifice for the sin that we commit. God sent His Son so that we could have live and have it abundantly- NOTHING we could do could save us. Now that Christ has come and Christ has died and Christ rose from the dead, we can have victory for our sins - once and for all.
