I don't believe in God. God was a concept that came later when man became more civilized. It started with ancestor worship and Sun worship, then branched off into other more complex religions.

The concept of "God" is a human creation. The first humans to have self-consciousness were understandably afraid when they found themselves all alone in the big bad world with no explanation for what we now know to be naturally occuring phenomena. So, the theistic concept of "God" was created by them as the reason for things such as earthquakes, volcanoes, thunder, lightning, etc. It gave them a feeling of some control over the volatility of life. Since those times scientific and human advancement have killed off that concept by explaining away many of the reasons "God" was created. We are now forced into a new reality for which we must develop a new understanding of "God." John Shelby-Spong wrote an excellent book on this topic titled "Why Christianity Must Change or Die."
As for the story of Adam & Eve specifically, they represent the history of the Jewish people. They could not have been the first humans on earth, if that was so, then where did Cain get a wife from?

Um yeah. and they knew all about dinosaurs without unearthing a dinosaur bone, right? They were unaware of the clinical info lower back then. that they had already developed and the more effective primitive species of guy were lengthy lengthy gone. The info for an issue-free ancestor is there, we are confident of that. How evolution works is what's theoretical. The info to lower back up the concept is there, in basic terms because that is with gravity. If there became no info, it would want to be a hypothesis. Now, you assert tens of millions of human beings weren't stupid and superstitious? the position is your info for that? except if you happen to wondered the existence of Zeus, they were very superstitious. The Bible would not say the earth became round everywhere and it became once heresy to say it became. they did not understand it became round. The Greeks did, although the Israelites who write the Bible did not.

Your question assumes that science has interpreted the picture correctly, with the limited data that they have gathered. At times I get the impression that religion is based more off of fact than science is. But in answer to your question, you start off with a desire to know about God. Then just like a scientist who is researching a project you perform an experiment, God has promised people certain things if they do certain things, so in your desire to find out about God test his word. In Malachi chapter 3 verse 10 God says to test him and see if he won't "open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." So do it put God to the test obey his commandments and as you do like a scientist performing an experiment look for the results of what you do.
And as you do this look for the influence of the Holy ghost in your life that will witness to you the truth of what you are doing. Alma gives a great discourse on faith and the Holy Ghost (or the Spirit) in Alma chapter 32

Hello, thought id put in my bit
how did the "cave men" get there?
What made the cave?
why is it that so many people believe that something such as the human body, which is intricate, systematic and architecturally AMAZING, can come from nothing but random chaos + time?
Since when does anything ever come from nothing friend?
Fact,... it does not, even science proves this.
Creation needs a creator,... God, he loves you so much that he brought you into this world, even giving you the gift of free will for you to choose weather or not you think he exists.
He can also be know personally, there is your challenge for 2007, Find God. Start with finding out about Jesus, and your home.
Thanks for the question

I like to think of "God" as a scientist. What if he created something, figured he could make it a little better, then that a little better. He ended up with us! What next? We certainly aren't perfect!
I really have no idea what I'm talking about, but it seems like a good explination. For some reason, I am questioning that and so much more... I can't wait to hear some other answers.

It didn't start that way..But as far as living in caves. I know of a family that lived in a cave about 35 years ago.
The Bible tells us how God made man and Adam already had a language to communicate with God.

It is better we use our thought process for understanding better things in proper perspective. What do you know about your great grand fathers grand father? Do you have any information or written document? Merely depending on the historians distortions do not arrive at occlusions and pose questions. To get a degree in engineering or medicine one has to struggle for a decade. Even then they will not be knowing all branches of the science. Please let me know your qualification to get this knowledge.

God does not exist, I cant understand why people still believe in god!?
Its _very_ obvious that religion was a way to to try to explain things that the ancient people just couldn't understand. But today we do understand!
Sorry all religious people, but when you die, you die, you are living in a lie!

I'm sorry; I don't actually see your question, here. I have faith in God, and I am certain that we evolved from single-cell organisms. I don't see a conflict, despite the fact that the Bible claims otherwise.
By the way: I think it's ironic that both "evolutionists" and "fundamentalists" claim each other represents a cult. LOL! Maybe they're both right.
