what goes in must come out.

if you drink before bed, youre gonna hafta pee while youre sleeping. theres no way around that unless you pee before bed and drink nothing after that last pee.

It's the amount of total fluid intake. Drinking lots of water is a good thing, keep doing it. Non-natural drinks (Mountain Dew, Coke etc..) contain sodium (salt), makes your body want more water.

Your body needs water to function, it will store what it needs. When you provide constant water the body won't store as much. The way the body gets rid of it is via urine.

If you don't want to pee in the middle of night first try not drinking anything after dinner, if possible. If that still doesn't help cut back on the amount of water you drink, but be prepared that you gain a few pounds because your body will start storing water again.

the extra caffeine in Mountain Dew will keep you awake, and the extra volume of water will make you need to go to the bathroom. Try not drinking any Mountain Dew after 5pm and stop the water at 7pm, so you have time to filter it all out before going to sleep.
How about substituting chamomile tea for the mountain dew, you could get 'hooked' on that just as easily as you did with the water, and chamomile will help you relax and go to sleep better than ever.

Yes the Mountain dew, keep you up. The other problem could be Diabetes, on your next doctor visit. Tell your Doctor about it and have a test done for it. But 1st stop drinking 2 hours before you go to bed, but pee 1st.

I would definitely blame the caffein for the staying up. Maybe cut out the mountain dew. Not to frighten you but you might look into diabetes or if your family has a history and what age group you're in. I just thought I read somewhere that being insatiably thirsty is a sign of diabetes. Do you feel dehydrated?

The caffeine in Mountain Dew can cause you to go to the bathroom often, however, unquenchable thirst can signal the onset of diabetes. If it runs in your family or even if it doesn't you should see your family doctor and tell him about your symptoms. He can give you a simple test to make sure that it is not diabetes. If he finds nothing you can rest easy, but don't put it off because dibetes is a very serious but treatable disease.

The latest dietary reference intake report by the United States National Research Council recommended (including food sources): 2.7 litres of water total for women and 3.7 litres for men. Check your liquid intake vs. this. If you are near or below this limit then just shift the soda to water intake for a healthier drinking habit. If you exceed this then you might want to ask your doctor about the thirst on your next check-up.

p.s. I'm less worred about diabetes as an automatic consequence of your water drinking, but if you are overweight, are eating lots of sweets, and / or having dizzy spells get checked for diabetes.

The Indians use to drink heaps of water before they went to sleep, so they could wake in the morning.

Is there something troubling you to have such a change in sleeping / drinking water habits ???
