I was raised in church (Methodist). I had not really gone "religiously" (every Sunday) since I was a child until last year. I went in between March and I would say October every Sunday and would watch my church's Tuesday service online. But there were too many unanswered questions for me. The inconsistencies in the bible. Also I just didn't believe everything that they believed and never have. I thought to go to church every Sunday would be a farce and lying to myself. So I have since been on a spiritual journey. I am now looking into Buddhism and Reformed Judaism to see which best is in line with my personal beliefs.

Well I'm a black 20-something, however I was never into the whole religion thing to begin with. I went to a New Thought Church, and when I ever went to a church that my religious Aunt went to it didn't feel right, like something was wrong with the people and etc, the energy was all wrong. Besides they are far too superstitious, literalistic, and tradition based. The bible has apparent inconsistencies because it is not meant to be taken literally. The key is in the spirit of them, that is the allegory, not the letter that killeth with the power to negate ones intellectual facilities but to facilitate them beyond a natural organic level, but into greater enlightenment of self and being and all that encompasses the nature of mind.
Atheism doesn't have greater truth than Religion, on the contrary they both have aspects of truth within their fragment, it's just they are limited within their prospective to what is genuine in the other - so they are duality personified, polarized within their specific roles/paths by which they view the world. Atheist are right when they say that the stuff in the bible could've never happened like that and anyone that believes it in that manner negates reason and the belief of a God, a God that is actually an allegory in scriptures is literal, is in some ways foolish. However that doesn't mean God doesn't exist but rather mans concepts of such things are the illusion, as man have always defined things to their own error. Most of the other black people I know that are my age don't go to church, don't talk about God and are very imbued in the cultural mindset.

The blessed Gospel of Jesus Christ given to us by his holy Father God through his inspired word the Holy Bible answers all questions ANYONE who is diligently SEEKING for the Truth.
All have the same choice to make, Hebrew, Greek, Gentiles, etc...
We have to choose who we will serve.
God has given us the Bible , He is the Author of our Salvation.
The Bible is the revelation of God to man, and the New Testament, in this, the Christian age, sets out fully HIS will which applies to us today.
Hebrews 11:6 But without FAITH it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is and that he is a rewarder of them which diligently seek him.
Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.
It is better to obey God , rather than men. Acts 5:29
People Leave Christ's Church because they would rather do IT their way than GOD'S way.
2 Peter 2:20,21,22 tells us it will be worse for those who have KNOWN the truth and rejected it .

Disenchantment with their religion because they have more access to information outside of their church and are, therefore, increasingly becoming atheists. Knowledge hurts religion.
