Ever heard of "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"? It is just a saying that got passed down... but certainly apple is good for your health. Of course, you can live without apples your whole life, but it is one of those good things in life that actually tastes good, so I don't know why you don't want to eat an apple...

Also in this case, depending on how young you are, there's also another issue, which is obeying your parents. I would obey my parents whenever it isn't something too hard to do. Is it really that bad to you to eat an apple? An apple does not taste horrible to you does it?

The disease-fighting profile of apples provides a multitude of health benefits, including a potential decreased risk of cancer and heart disease. Several recent studies suggest apples may provide a "whole-body" health benefit.

A number of components in apples, most notably fiber and phytonutrients have been found in studies to lower blood cholesterol and improve bowel function, and may be associated with a reduced risk of ischemic heart disease, stroke, prostate cancer, type II diabetes and asthma. Preliminary research from Finland indicates diets with the highest intake of apple phytonutrients were associated with a 46 percent reduction in the incidence of lung cancer. Findings indicate that two apples a day or 12 ounces of 100% apple juice reduced the damaging effects of the “bad” LDL cholesterol.

So do what your mum says... Eat the apple!!!

This is because an apple has lots of vitamin c and other good things in it to help keep you healthy (with a good diet, exercies etc).

It also has lots of fibre (you lose most of the fibre when it is juiced which is why whole fruits such as oranges and apples are better for you than the juices although juice is still ver ygood.

Apples eaten raw, before a meal (preferably before breakfast) will keep your insides pristine clean because the fruit-acid salts stimulate the digestive process. The Pectine apples also contain is a germicide, so it gets rid of germs. I also read somewhere that something in apples helps you get rid of fat.
And if that's not enough, apples are delicious, cheap and available all year round. Your Mum's right. Mums usually are.

Any fruit is good for you.
Apples have a natural sugar and are better at waking you up in the morning than coffee and can help you get a good start to your day. They are mostly rich in fiber to help you stay regular and keep your system running good. Too many apples can have a bad effect on you though.

Well according to old wives, "an apple a day keeps the doctor away."

Research shows that apples may reduce the risk of colon cancer, prostate cancer and lung cancer. Like many fruits, Apples contain Vitamin C as well as a host of other antioxidant compounds, which may reduce the risk of cancer by preventing DNA damage. The fibre content, while less than in most other fruits, helps regulate bowel movements and may thus reduce the risk of colon cancer. They may also help with heart disease, weight loss and controlling cholesterol, as they do not have any cholesterol, have fibre (which reduces cholesterol by preventing reabsorption), and are bulky for their caloric content like most fruits and vegetables.

Not to mention, dentists sugest that because of their density, also are good at helping to clean your teeth.

You're not supposed to like every thing your parents tell you to do. You ARE supposed to obey them. Your mum is making you eat the apple because it's good for you. She is teaching you the right things to eat for YOUR good health. So don't be a brat and listen to your parents. There's far worse things they could make you eat for breakfast.
