i have a friend who works at a call center and rumor has it that someone did a bowel movement in the quiet room on the couch...grosss...for fun....ewww....that's the room where employees take naps or just relax during breaks...why people do that?

Those who do such things are just plain weird and need their heads examined. They may be having psychological problems and just want to attract attention, no matter what. They are crying to be noticed only that they end up doing the wroong things that (if they are caught) makes them more embarrassed and even sink more into depression. The simple answer is that they need to see a doc, psychologist or whatever for an analysis.
