Check, dead birds in Idaho.This question sounds familiar

In Austin, Texas 63 grackels died suddenly due to a combination of a very rapid decrease in local temperatures (about 10 deg F) and infestation with parasites that weakend the birds. It was not due to the presence of any toxins, avian flue or global warming.

There were a bunch of dead birds in Austin, Texas too...I don't believe they followed up on it yet... probably the flu.
