I'm in charge of all her finances but from time to time about 5-6 times a week I use the money for my own personal things. Sometimes I put a little back in. She's not to bright, but has asked where all her money is going. I just tell her bills. What does it hurt? She's lucky she has any money at all.

It's only a loan

2007-01-19 01:01:25 · update #1

It may not be a loan that I asked for, but I said I do return a little of it. I'm in bad shape and she is bleeding me dry with everything I have to do for her. I'm tired also.

Why was this burden put on me? Your all sick of me...huh what about me. I have needs as well. My bills have to be paid also. I could work, but I choose not to. It's not that she takes up all my time, but I feel that I should get paid for the care I give her, so I pay myself in a way I guess.

She's very lucky to have you as a grandson.

Dog bless you.

First of all you must know it's wrong because you yourself are questioning it. Besides being morally wrong and unethical, it's illegal. It's not a loan because she's not loaning it to you, you are taking it. That is the lowest form of life to take advantage of an elderly person who trusts you. She's not luck to have money, it's her money not yours. What kind of a person takes advantage of their grandmother? You really should be ashamed of yourself and let me tell you, there is such a thing as Karma and it is coming your way big time.

I hope someone finds out about you and locks your @ss up. What will happen to Grandma after you bleed her creep? You really make me sick and should look into your character. You will be old someday and I hope someone sucks your blood the same way. You are really pathetic and I take it you're a man, some man.

Good luck and have fun in Hell.

It's nice of you to take care of her finances when she isn't able to. But since you asked this question, it is evident your conscience is in fact telling you it's not right for you to take from her disability check, and what happens is, your mind tries to justify that it's ok because you are already doing her a favor by managing her finances and you do return some of the money.

Well, you have in fact answered your own question... and you know the answer. If you don't want your conscience to continue bothering you, you ought to stop taking money from her disability check. If you really need the money from time to time, I'm sure your grandmother would be happy to lend you or let you take like that if you would just ask her.

....."oh, what a tangled web we weave"

So, you think need to ask if stealing is bad?

Here you are trying to justify it by saying "she is not too bright", "what does it hurt?", " she's lucky she has any money at all?" all because you know it's wrong.

Don't worry, when she passes away all her accounts and information will be reviewed by probate and a probate lawyers so you will pay it back then when your caught.

As a added bonus, you may face embezzlement / larceny charges and run in to more problems if you have other brothers and sisters that also have rights to what is being liquidated.

In short, Just remember this saying
" you reap what you sow"

oh how true it is!

If you have responsibility to her check, it is ok to take some out to help with your finances. There is a percentage though that you are to take out, and that is only if she is living with you.

I know this is a burden for you and I am sorry that it is, taking care of someone you love that is elderly is very hard. My son receives money and we take so much out for household and the rest is his for anything that he may need. We have to document in a check book or keep recepts for what we have taken out.

You ungrateful little brat! It is illegal to steal HER money. You did not earn it, if she wants to give you a gift or a little something to say thank you for your help that is her decision. You consider time to time 5-6 times a week?! That is almost DAILY!!! Stop stealing from your GRANDMA! Man, I want to slap you! Do you have any sense at all? It is obvious to me that YOU are not the person for this job. Stealing from Grandma.....what is this world coming to?

Look. You are committing a Federal Felony, which is punisheable with 10 years of prison and $250,000 fine.

Stop doing that. If you need help because you have financial difficulties, there are places where you can get help.

You should never, EVER, do that again. If you think you won't be caught, you are wrong. I know, because it is my job to know of these things.

Interesting way to try and justify your dishonesty and violation of her trust and the law.

I hope I'm on your jury for I'll make sure you and Bubba have a long time to discuss the error in your judgment and total lack of character.

Stealing is wrong any way you look at it. Taking advantage of and stealing from your elderly grandmother is absolutely horrible. She is trusting you to take care of things for her not to take advantage of her. If you need some money, you should just ask her, don't be sneaky and dishonest. That's horrible!!!!
