you might try Petsmarts animal hospital by the name of Banfield they have them in the bigger Petsmart stores. My husband and I have our dogs on their puppy plan but they also have plans for older pets as well . Good luck and I hope that I helped.

Your best vet is to call around and speak to different vets. Most will tell you their "in the door fee" or "exam fee" then they go for there.
Your best bet is to find a vet with a low exam fee and while they examed your dog then they will tell you how they will go about the sitaution from there. Always be sure to ask for an estimate on any procedure that they recommend.
You do not always have to stick with that vet for the procedure. The estimate will help you get an idea, so when you call around for the actually procedure for the enlarged live you can compare/ you have something to go on.
The prices of vet range based on where you live. I do not know about the outside the city the cheaper the vet bill, because I take my dog outside the city of Boston to her vet and it's still pretty high as to going to an emergency vet center (which was pretty much the same price).
Good Luck.

Where I live it pays to call around. Seems the further from the city you get, the cheaper the vet bills are. If you can travel outside the city, it might be worth it.

Contact your local humane society. They are usually the cheapest.
You can also contact PAWS. A while back they use to give spay / neuter vouchers. Not sure if they are still doing this.

Check your local ASPCA or Humane Society. They will usually have some type of payment assistant programs or can put you on a payment plan....
