i have paid my bill, its not shut off, but its a cordless phone and everytime i turn it on, the screen says "cant connect" it wont even let me change the channel on it. im all stressed out about it because i NEED my phone!!! what should i do?

HA! It was unplugged from the wall! Now i feel like an idiot! :)

You would be surprised how often that happens. Gone out on many troubles and all I had to do was plug it back in.

First of all you should always have a land line phone because cordless phones cannot work when there is a power outage which doesn't affect landlines. If you only have one jack then get a splitter so you can have two phones.
Your cordless phone needs to be reset at the Base to communicate. Make sure the Base is plugged in with the AC Adapter as well as the phone jack. See your owners manual but if you don't have one then try to get to the menu selection on the LCD screen of the base unit. Lastly you might be able to call Radio Shack and they can walk you through it.
In the meantime get yourself a cheap corded phone.

is the thing plugged into both the phone jack and the electricity? If so than the battery is probably dead. Buy yourself a cheap regular phone to test the line. If it works than the problem is with the cordless phone itself. good luck.
