No, but I have had experience with Credit counseling. First of all you should know that most banks and credit card companies will work with you on a debt re-payment plan if you contact them directly and stick to it. A credit counseling service does the work for you but #1 it affects your ability to get credit at a later date, #2 you do not learn how to handle your accounts on your own, #3you must practically hand over your paycheck to them and they allot a certain amount back to you.
Consider carefully before you take this action or consider bankruptcy. You created the debt, it may take years to get out of it completely, but you can do it on your own. If you do not feel you can, than check with your Better Business Bureau to find the most legitimate Credit Counseling Agency out there. Hope all goes well.

Yes, I have. It's real simple and I never had to talk to anyone. I just filled out the online forms with all my information and they sent me a quote for monthly amount due. You can either agree to the payment or not and go somewhere else. You can also have the payment directly deducted from your bank account. I have never had to hand over my entire paycheck and have the counseling agency give back what's left. If anyone did that, I'd run far away!
Counseling can affect your credit. But your credit is probably not in the best shape, otherwise you wouldn't be looking for help.
