Have you tried adjusting the color, brightness and contrast already? Also, have you tried other sources - DVD, VCR, Cable box? Do they all look the same? If they all look the same then the problem is in the TV, if only one looks bad then I'd check the cables first or maybe that component went bad.

I have a tv repairman that came out to repair my plasma and he said that plasma tv have crystals in them that eventually fade away and have to be replaced. He told me that it was expensive to do and if I wanted to get another tv that plasma are not the way to go. He also told me that plasma tvs are great color and beautifull to look at but within a year they will start loosing their color. So I guess to answer your question you can repair them or buy another tv. We purchased an Hitashi 62" CRT projection tv from circuit city because he told us that they make the best and if they have to be repaired they are the easiest ones to fix. He also told us that Sony is the number one tv but the components are very expensive to fix. We only paid 1200.00 for the Hitashi and the color is very nice.

There can be so many things wrong with electronic equipment. You will have to take it to the authorised agent and find out whats wrong.

Dude....no offense to you but your TV repairman is either an idiot or a really good salesman.
