Speak to your accountant. Certainly, scholarship funding should always be paid directly to the school, so it does not go through your accounts. Read the conditions of the GRANT and determine if it simply PAID for materials, or was intended to PAY you, which would be income.

If your grant and scholarship was significant, it might be a really good idea to get an accountant.

It's possible that part of it would be taxable. Talk to an accountant - not to someplace like H&R Block.

Not usually unless it was a very large amount that exceeded your school expenses (tuition, books, room & board, any required fees, etc.).
