Definitely.

One thing some people seem to forget is that appliances which are more energy efficient cost less to run. Someone may save a tenner on the purchase price by buying a cheap kettle instead of an efficient one, but the extra power the less efficient kettle uses over its lifetime will cost them more than a tenner in the long run.

Tracking down efficient stuff these days is pretty easy with the energy rating figures manufacturers produce, so it's not like it's hard to work out which is the greener item.

I wouldn't replace my current stuff, but if I needed a new kettle, for example, and there was a choice between two, I'd pick the more energy efficient one. However, if there was a large price differential (maybe more than £5-£10 on a kettle), I'd go for the cheaper one over the efficient one.

I just use less of that crap. A hundred years ago nobody had most of that stuff. They keep inventing more stuff which is a big reason that our country's energy consumption is going up. Not just kitchen appliances but TVs, computers, video games, and so many other things.

i assume like maximum individuals with a level of customer-experience of right and incorrect (if this form of factor is definitely obtainable) i might decide for to purchase something that replaced into eco-friendly (all jokes approximately who prefer white or chrome stable for the kitchen aside) if it replaced into fairly obtainable. What might I assume it to do to qualify for that? nicely possibly it would require a decrease-than-elementary potential consumtion, and or all or any here: be made out of environmentally friendly components, be made out of recycled components, be recyclable and/or environmentally friendly as and while it demands disposal, no longer produce poisonous gases or components mutually as in use, probable be made out of (or a minimum of incorporate) elementary-commerce components, etc. i'm confident there are others, yet it relatively is a robust initiate.
