I have thick hair too and the best thing I ever did for my hair was have it layered. The longest layer is medium length hair and all the rest is layered. Lots of different length layers has thinned it out alot so now I can wear it sleek and straight or curly.

i think you should get it cut in layers.. where your hair is shorter at the top and then longenss out . (your hair dresser will know what you mean if you just say layer it ) umm and yea it looks good and will make it less thick so i'tll be better my hair is layered now i cant stand hair in teh one lenght if you want it curly but not heaps thick only curl the top half and straight the bottom under layer that should loko alrght but not too straight as it might be a tad bit weird .. umm yea what colour is your hair.. GHD is the best type of hair straightener omg i love them soo much =] soo good haha i give it 5 stars /5 stars lol i dont have thick hair but my friend does it looks horrible as she does nothing to it and lets it just. sit there. and its really long. i dont like sshort thick hair either,. you should get a fringe too as that looks good if yo have thick hair cause it wll be soo easy to keep normal lol i dunno about my opinions but just consider them and give it thought as i like it'd look nice its your choice and im sure everyone else has tehre opinions . i hope it goes well xxx

when getting your hair cut ask for the underneath to be razored to get rid of the weight without having to have layers cut in, any good hairdresser will know what i mean, i find this method easier than layers because you can style your hair without clips, which if your hair is anything like mine are hard to keep in! also invest in a really good conditioner like aussie three min miracle as it helps to keep bulkiness down- as for straightening your thick hair try tipping your head upside down its easier to reach the shorter thicker bits underneath before attempting the top and front x hope this helps and hope you can ditch the bobbles soon x

I also have really thick hair and I actually go to a salon and ask them to cut it thinner! Many people think it sounds horrible since so many would like to have thick hair. But it is really hard to manage and it often looks frizzy. Usually it's made thinner with some nice layers. Just ask for advice from hair stylists. :)

You can go to a hairdresser and get it thinned and if you like your hair straight or prefer it curly (wavy) you get that professional done and it will last for like 6 months i think or something like that and it really works you dont have to straighten your hair if you get it professional straightened.

Connsider trying braids, french, inside out, etc. Also trying using a chi iron to straighten it or hot curlers to curl it. My favorite thing to do is to use rags and sleep in them wow talk about curly hair. I too have long hair which goes to my rear end

Pop along to a good hairdresser and get some advice. Have you consider layers or thinning it?

How about getting some of the weight cut out of it? If you speak to your hairdresser they will know what you mean. They use special scissors that kind of cut sections of your hair out (sounds worse then it is - believe you me). Good luck.
