It was closed yesterday (Thursday) between J29 and J30 northbound and between J31 and J29 southbound because of an overturned lorry (originally just between J30 and J29 southbound). It's now fully open.

There were advance warnings from as far south as the M25, we turned off at J28 intending to rejoin at J31 after going via Mansfield and Worksop. Only problem was that Mansfield was at a standstill because of fallen trees etc and the road to Worksop was closed because roofs had blown off buildings.

Could have been worse - the southbound traffic was tailing back 35 miles to Wakefield.

The M1 was closed southbound between J22 and J21 and reduced to the hard-shoulder northbound because of an overturned vehicle that had shed it's load. It also closed for a time just a mile up the motorway because of animals on the road.

We had a fun time yesterday - 16 hours from Sussex to Yorkshire with most of the delays north of Leicester.
