Stress is a natural thing, it is part of our fight or flight mechanism, it is what saves our lives, gives us courage, and for some gives them pleasure. Too much stress on the other hand is bad. It can cause sleep problems, loss of appetite, loss of desire for sex, all and all reduce our quality of life. Stress is something that will always be there, so do we try and get rid of it or manage it. A few things you can do to manage stress are as follows. Exercise is the #1 thing you can do; it helps burn up stress and anger, and gives you a healthier body and mind to handle stress to come. Meditation is another great thing that can be done, but it may not be a convenient thing to do everywhere. One thing that can be done almost anywhere is called toe scrunching. Sit, crunch up your toes, in or out of shoes, hold it for the count of five and repeat, 3 to 5 times. The entire time you are doing this, remember to breathe deeply. I like to sit at my desk and go to a “happier place” for a few minutes when I can. I sit with the door closed, when I won’t be bothered, and picture myself in a very relaxing safe place. I know, all this sounds like it wouldn’t help, but you would be surprised. A resource you can also try is therapy and medication, but that can be costly. Do what you need to do so that you won’t cause your self pain, and you can get back to a good happy life style.

First you need to know why you're stressing out.
It can be a chemical imbalance for which there is medications. It could be due to allergies, which can cause people to fret needlessly and have panic disorders which disappear when the allergen is removed.
Just fearing something and getting stressed about it... sometimes you need to just push through it. When you start feeling stressed, ask yourself why? Is there a good logical answer? Teach yourself to breath deeply and slowly, calm yourself, and work through it logically and rationally. If there is no logical reason for your anxiety, then discard it or ignore it and move on to something else.
If you cannot mentally discard irrational and illogical fear and stress, then you should see a doctor. Its either a chemical imbalance, or allergies which is easily tested.

I really don't think that you can stop getting stress; I believe you have to learn better ways of dealing with it. I try to identify the current stress-er at hand and solve the underlining problem. If I cannot solve the problem I remove myself from it.

You will always have stress in your life but there are things you can do to help alleviate it. I like to take bubble baths or go to the movies. Another big help is my pet cat.
