DO not clump us all together. I am a very good person and I am a teacher who works very hard for her students. I teach in the inner city of Detroit where some of the poorest kids are and I have bought them winter coats because their parents would rather spend their money on other things than keeping their children warm. I have also bought them lunch when their parents did not send them one and they were not "poor enough" to receive a free lunch. I Do not like your question, SOME OF US ARE VERY CARING!

I was a volunteer teachers aide for 4 yrs And MOST of the teachers should never be in charge if children. YES they should have drug screening, but the state would just warn them as to when they would be conducting this. The school I worked at would tell the teachers when surprise inspections were coming.
School is so different from when we were kids. It is more military style now, No talking in the halls, lunchroom. You must have 1 finger on your lips & 1 hand on your hips in the hallways...that way the teacher knows your not talking and your keeping your hands to yourself. Even when I was working at the school i passed the lunch line just in time 1 day, the kids were lined up & the rule is 1 shoulder touches the wall at all times. wellllllll MY SON's shoulder wasnt quite on the wall , so his teacher walked up to him & PUT it there for him. I WAS a Teaching Aide but I am a MOTHER 1st. SO I PUT the teacher against the wall & told her if she ever put her hands on my child again........well u can use ur imagination as to the rest. I am seriously thinking of Home Schooling, I have lost faith & trust in the educational system.

This should not be taken as a generalization of "teachers." I do think that it is best to have a more rigid screening for new "educators" when they apply for teaching jobs to see who will have the tendency to violate their professions and compromise their morals on the basis of indecency and grave misconduct. It is also best to have a yearly psychological test as part of a "performance review" of educators to identify key traits warranting "concerns" for school administrators whether it is still safe to keep the teacher or not based on the result.
Just a mere suggestion...

As parents are we good enough to teach our children? Don't judge all bye one bad apple. I had beautiful teachers, and they all have changed my life in one way or the other. That's really not fair to all the good teachers, and no i'm not a teacher.

IN THIS DAY AND TIME, ANY AND ALL PROFESSIONS THAT GRANT A PERSON EASY ACCESS TO OUR CHILDREN SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE RANDOM DRUG TESTS AND LIE DETECTOR TESTS TO ASSIST IN DETERMINING THEIR CHARACTER AND WETHER OR NOT THEY ARE POTENTIAL PEDOPHILES. THIS INCLUDES ALL BRANCHES OF LA WW ENFORCEMENT AND CLERGYMEN AND WOMEN. AS FOR SENTENCING... IF THEY ARE FOUND GUILTY OF ANY CHARGES CONCERNING CHILDREN, THEY SHOULD GET MORE THAN THE MAXIMUM DUE TO THEIR EASY ACCESS!!!
