I have a cousin named Elle and we all call her Ella!!

I love the name Ella I think rose would make a wonderful middle name Ella Rose doesnt it have a ring to it? I am so happy for you, a girl or any baby for that fact is truly a blessing

Well Ella is a cute name, but that name was used in a movie, think of something unique, something that was not a movie.

A variant of this name is also one of the top ten in all the Scandinavian countries. Look at the top 25-50 names used in the country where you come from and DO NOT CHOOSE THEM. In a class of 20 kids here 5 were named Thomas! 4 Andreas! In my family we have a Silje, Cecilje and Sissel--all cousins born in the 1970s, having about the same name. It also dates the era when one is born.
What about Benedicta, Bergliot, Cathrine?
Give her a strong name.

Ella is lovely. The most important things are to think how her name will sound through out her life, whether YOU like it (dont worry about anyone else) and how it sounds with the last name. (Please, no puns!) Congratulations.

I think it is a beautiful name, but also, was one of the top names in the state of Michigan for 2006... Don't know about nationwide though. It's up to you if you want your daughter to have a common name as far as her classmates are concerned.

Its pretty. As a suggestion, consider Elliana (elle-ana). I know a little girl in my daughter's class with this name. They call her Ellie for short.
