Polly and Molly are both offshoots of Mary (it went from Mary to MALLY to Molly to Polly).

I knew of a few cases the position a Paula receives referred to as Polly even as they are youthful and that call sticks to them for some thing of their existence. in the journey that they are by beginning Polly it would want to properly be derived from Pollyanna.

Polly is a complete name. It is not short for Pollyana anymore than Mary is short for Maryann.

I always thought it was short for Pauline. My sister's name is Pauline and we call her Polly.
