Talking serpents? Whales swallowing men whole, and then the man lives to tell about it? Resurrection? Burning bushes that talk? Seas parting? Water turned into wine?

Add to that MILLIONS of gullible people who believe every word of it all, and I think the answer to my question is "yes'.

I believe the word of God with all my heart.

It is unfortunate that you feel that way.
1. Satan isnot a snake. He is a disembodied spirit which can possess a physical body
2. The creature that swallowed Jonah was not a whale. The original meaning of the ancient hebrew word dag has been lost and through translation it has mistakenly become whale. Nonetheless the account of Jonah is true
3.The resurrection of Christ is all faith
4. It was not the bush that was burning but rather the glory of God shining out from it
5. Scientists(long held to be the enemies of faith) have recently proven that a portion of the red sea floor had been exposed to Sunlight for a period of weeks in ancient history
6. The water to wine is also faith

There is a grand difference between all of those fairy tales and the true meaning of what it is to be Christian. To be Christian, in my opinion, is to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ: love, truth, justice, tolerance, charity, and liberty for ALL. It doesn't matter whether or not he actually existed, was cruxified, did all of the miracles the Bible says he did, and was resurrected. In fact, I think that most of that is a lot of hogwash, but you cannot deny the fact that for people to follow his guidance (even if it is just a story) the world would be a better place.

Btw, just for the record, I consider myself to be a Christian.

1 Cor. 1:18 For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written:

“ I will destroy the wisdom of the wise,
And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”

20 Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. 22 For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; 23 but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 BECAUSE THE FOOLISHNESS OF GOD IS WISER THAN MEN, AND THE WEAKNESS OF GOD IS STRONGER THAN MEN.

Doesn't sound like you have studied the Bible very much. In fact it doesn't sound like you have studied any books very much by your question. Stay in school and learn how to compose a good question, and come back when you have more knowledge.
