Showering, swimming, or being around water is not recommended with any type of soft contact lens. Water, especially hot water from showers or hot tubs, are more susceptible to acanthomoeba. It's a type of infection caused by a parasite. It's somewhat rare, but sight threatening. I would advise to remove your contacts while showering and for swimming to use a single use lens if you are going to be around a pool or lake.

I have showered with mine in before (14 day disposable) but I don't do it all of the time. I didn't notice anything different the next time I put them in.

Best not too, as the water is very likely to get into your eye and cause an infection.
Better to just put them into some saline while you shower.

Just keep your eyes closed during the whole shower. Make sure you know where the shampoo and soap is before you get in, and that you can easily reach your towel before you get out of the shower so you can dry your face before you need to open your eyes.

Yes you can. You can also cry wearing lenses. Swimming is not recommended though. And when you are inserting your lenses be certain not to get any tap water underneath them as this can cause horrible eye problems which (I think I was told) are incurable. The trick is not to allow water UNDERNEATH your lenses, but once inserted they are ok to shower in.

You had better remove them before you take a shower or wash your face.
I usually don't remove them, but I will close my eyes when washing my face in a shower.

I used my contacts for 10 yrs and always showered with them, just make sure you dont get soap in because it's even more painful with contacts on.

You are supposed to, but I shower every day with mine in otherwise I can't see anything! I also swim with them in too. I wear dailies though so it doesn't matter so much if I wreck one.
