11 years of law enforcement experience here. And i can tell you, that the police are stereo typed just like every body else. Unfortunately, many of the police are jack-booted thugs, that makes it hard for us good ones. Oh, and yes that is profiling.

I never disrepected police until I was abused by them for no cause and witnessed their abuse of others. Any person that honestly ought to be respected will be respected. Christ Jesus for example can walk among devils and they do respect him and he can walk among the upright and they also will respect him but
men and women that do not deserve respect do not command it, they just cant, through oppression and persecution they may coerce false respect and many citizens brown nose police as a manipulative tactic. Disrespect is used most often by people to communicate the disapproval of the disrespected one it is an effort of the disrespector to tell the disrespected, you hurt me and transgress.

well, unfortunately, no one wants to get caught breaking the law (speeding, etc) but everyone wants justice if a crime's committed against them. (vandalism, etc) shame.... but.... it kinda comes with the territory of being an officer. It's a job where you KNOW not everybody's going to like you and you have to be okay with that.

Disrespect. Their Parents never taught `em to respect others in Authority. But you were taught, the right way. Thank goodness.

I think it's because alot of people resent authority. It's also possible they had a run in with a 'bad' cop at one time. We all call them when we need them though.

Generally, the profession attracts self-righteous individuals bound to " I'll show you who is right" attitudes and cosequently actions.
Now, once you get up the ranks you do find reasonable people.

because until they are needed, they are possibly going to give 'who-ever' a hard time, Like pulling you over for speeding, or something that you don't need...ALSO, there's the wholier than thou effect, it's very stereo-typical, but many cops think that they are better than civilians because of the badge, or the gun, and abuse their power.
