Because Hell makes for a better story, so Christians still use it as a threat. It is an empty threat, though. Heaven and Hell don't exist, neither does God.

If hell is no more? What do you mean? There's nothing in the Bible that said that Jesus caused hell to cease to exist.

Look up the word "conquer" in the dictionary. It doesn't mean "cause a place to cease to exist." A conquered place still exists, and people can still go there -- whether it was ancient Palestine of 2,000 years ago, occupied France of the 1940s, or hell.

Jesus conquered hell in the sense that He made sure, through His death and resurrection, that hell would not be the final destination of every single person in the world. That's where all of us, mired in sin, would end up if not for His redemptive work on the Cross.

People still go to hell because they make a conscious decision not to have God in their lives. They go there because they make a conscious decision to habitually put themselves ahead of God and of everyone else. They go there because they reject God and His love and mercy.

In a sense, you could say that God doesn't send anyone to hell. People who end up there in effect send themselves there.

Who the HELL ever said that Jesus conquered Hell? God created hell for the fallen Angels. God and Jesus are one in the same. That's not hard to understand when you know that God took a portion of His Spirit and allowed Jesus to die for our sins. That is how it can be said that Jesus was there with Adam and Eve during the creation. There was never anything in the Bible saying that God wanted to conquer something He created. Satan knows his future and can do nothing about it except collect as many as possible to the lake of fire. Actually the word Hades is mentioned in the Bible and in translated Greek, Hades is also translated to "The grave". This could mean that your spirit will die if you are not known by Jesus when you are with God after you leave this physical world. We will all face this event when we die. I personally believe that when you die, if you hear the words from Jesus, "I know you not", your in a heap of trouble and you will probably just cease to exist. Eternity will not be known to you. God is real and so is Jesus and Satan. Who do you wish to follow? May God Bless you.

The Messiah overcame, and offers salvation (avoidance of the lake of fire) to those who accept His way. Hell does not exist---YET! Most folks go to the grave. After one is dead, comes the judgment, and the Almighty will sort out who has accepted His great offer, and who has not. The righteous will be resurrected, and go to heaven (the place, in the middle star of the "sword' of "Orion") for 1000 years. During this time the books will be opened, and the Almighty will show each of "us" that what He did, and is going to do, is the most merciful and generous thing that can be done. After that 1000 years, the "wicked" will be raised to live again. They are still wicked, but at one point will be overwhelmed with the beauty and rightness of the Almighty, and "every knee will bow". Then they will again be filled with rage (that they are outside) and will march on the Holy City. At that point "Hell" will happen. "Fire came down...out of heaven and consumed them" (Rev 20:9). Notice the "Past tense" Once they are consumed, the fire will go out. Then, as it says in Rev 21:5-- "See I make all things new" (And we know that the Almighty does things very well, and it will be very good.)

I believe hell does exist and people do go to hell by their own choice. Atheist and such people who refuse to accept Christ during their life on earth are denied life everlasting. Turn you back on Christ on earth and he will turn his back on you in the next life.

Thus, God instead of blessing them with heaven gives them hell. I don’t think God ever wants to send people to hell, but it is by his justice that he must. Christ did conquer hell as he is the King of all realms including hell. If you don’t understand the teachings most Christians follow and are truly interested I suggest reading the book of Revelation. However, I must warn you the symbolism present in this book are very puzzling to many very well known theologians… this may either interest you very much or cause you to think up a million of other question in regards to the same question. Either way consider yourself warned. Good luck finding you answers!

Because Jesus conquored Hell, now people can go to heaven, which was the divine loving will since man was kicked out of it when adam and even had fallen.

But, at the same time, God gave us free will...Although He had Died and paid the price of salvation, it is upto the individual to accept it.
It is like me going out and getting a nice gift that I know you will enjoy...but how are you suppose to enjoy it, unless you accept it from me, with your own free will and appreciation??
It is exactly the same...Jesus Died and paid the price, I have to accept it, and live a good life with Him, and loing Him and striving to know Him and live in the Grace of this Salvation that He loving gave me...That was, I can go to heaven.
But what happens if I reject it and walk away and do not believe in what He did for me?? Yup...I go to hell...with my own free will.

I hope this helps...God bless.

jesus took the power from satan, after jesus died,
jesus died for our sins, BUT hell still exists for the
ones that God passes bad judgements on.
its GOD judgement, and GOD's choice that hell still exists.
and who goes to hell.
lets say for example, if you brought a child into this world
and molested the child for all of its life, and let others molest that
child, do you really think GOD would allow that parent into heaven.
so i am glad that hell still exists, for those that do wrong and
the unforgiveable acts.
GOD and jesus rule heaven, devil influences some people on earth and rules hell. so that is why there is still a hell.

Just because Jesus conquered hell, doesn't mean that we have.

I guess they find the concept exciting. The kingdom of God is within us. the fires of Hell were destroyed when all the baptismal waters returning satans sins to him flooded into hell..

I see you have totally no idea?...of what it meant.
It was that from the moment Christ had a victory=that people could 'now' ask Jesus...for a pardon, that he will forgive them for all their own sins.
Sin is a product! of satan......
Now......people who do not ask for Jesus to come into their lives, will not have a way to get into heaven.
Heaven belongs to Jesus.....and he can not have 'anyone' who will not love Him....in His home.
Hell then is the only other solution...as far as where a eternal soul could go!
