Yes, YOU!!! Unless you are one of the 1% of people who aren't. How can you all KNOW that God does or does not exist or that your religion is correct?

The irony is that if I didn't include this sentence, I would get multiple responses from different beliefs "agreeing" with me and complaining about how close minded and stupid people are from another belief group. But that is exactly what I am trying to fight!

I am never wrong, and you know why? Because I believe in the truth, nothing more. Why do people have to be so sure even though they obviously don't have enough evidence to be that sure?

It feels like everyone is sleep walking and somebody needs to shake them and wake them up to the real world, where things are not as simple as they think and their belief is not the ultimate truth.

Ok most of you are missing the point. Obviously I shouldn't have put the "I am never wrong" part. I wasn't trying to say anything other than that believing too strongly in anything is stupid.

I try not to be closed minded. I believe there is no god, because of the evidence. I do not claim to KNOW there is no god, and like everyone, I do have doubts and wonder if I'm really right. If new evidence comes to light which makes something else look more likely I will change my beliefs. Even respected scientists can find some new data and suddenly some 'fact' or other will look unlikely.

I try and gather my information from all sides (my latest book order from amazon includes a copy of the koran, the satanic bible, some buddhist wisdom, darwins origin of species and the gnostic gospels) because it irks me when people have a belief and won't read anything that may contradict it.

If believing in anything is so stupid and closed-minded yet you believe in your opinion, does that make YOU stupid and closed minded? I'm not trying to insult you, just asking! Some people do have enough evidence to make them believers and some just believe because they have faith. It is stupid to argue and fight wars over this issue. IF there is a God would he/she want that? Live and let live. Opinions are like belly-buttons..we've all got one!

You're never wrong? You believe in the truth? So you've got it sussed. Sounds like you need to start your own religion and enlighten the rest of us.

I don't say that I know anything other than what I think. Judaism and Buddhism work for me.

But then you sound like a troll. Hope you're having fun.

we all have different opinions.... each person sees a situation differently, and the whole world altogether... so what seem to be the truth to you can seem stupid to me. regarding the existence of God, am I right in believing he does exist? Yes, I'm right! But you can think whatever you want (about my being right, or God's existence.) God gave us all free will in choosing whatever, it's up to you! call me close-minded, or anything else you want... aren't we all a little "close-minded" about what we believe (including yourself)? after all you don't believe what I believe and judging from how you stated your question I doubt I'd be able to convince you that God exists..

To say that you are never wrong and always right is just telling us how closed minded you are yourself. To admit that we aren't always right is an admission that we don't know everything. I am narrow minded because of what I have learned by experience an knowledge of God in my personal life. It doesn't mean that I can't listen to arguments or state my opinions. It just means that I don't care to apply what others believe to what I know in my heart is the truth of what I know and have experienced. They also don't apply what I believe to their hearts either.

im with you on this one. i really dislike it when people disagree over unprooven things, it causes so much hate in the world, and close minded people really get on my nerves, im willing to give anything some thought, i even went to church for three years cos my friends were christian, i thought it was worth a go if god spoke to me then i would listen, obviously he didnt, so i am a happy aethist, religion is a nice idea but doesnt catch some people so why are we hated when their god decides we arnt special enough to know the "truth". right ill stop blabbering know.

It must be pleasant to know that what you believe is the truth. Are you certain of the truth? Can you support your truth with verifiable evidence?

May I suggest that you read Andrew Newberg's "Why We Believe What We Believe?" It's a fascinating study of the biological mechanisms of belief.

I am that sure, read the bible and you will see the foolishness of it.

If you don't believe that god is a personal god, that wants to be worshiped, than what would it matter to you, if I said I don't believe in god(s) etc ?
It's not like you think I'll burn in hell for my disbelief, right ?

Or are you taking about the god of Abraham or some other sort of personal god?
