It's true they don't allow them to join. Just ask somebody who's a Freemason. In 1975 they even gave up their tax-exempt status so they would have to let blacks join. And I don't buy the "Well, the have their own lodges" bull. That's called segregation. Furthermore, the Prince Albert Rite has no fellowship or connection to Scottish or York Rite anyway.
So why do you think they get so mad?

Dear Lord, once again I'm fighting a battle of wits with unarmed opponents. Please re-read what I said about Prince Albert Masonry. All you have to do is a Yahoo search to see this is an old story:

That's because your friend is in GAMBIA Chris! I'm talking about USA Masons (and not fringe Masonry like "Co-Masons" or "Rosicrucians"). An ex-Confederate general named Albert Pike started the "whites only" rule.

Oh, and I know the black lodges aren't called "Prince Albert", it's called a joke.
Wow, a handful of lodges in PA and OH let in some token blacks. Big deal. This 2006.
And I'm not saying it's right some blacks discriminate against whites. It's still discrimination.

Well, apparently they're racist in Oklahoma.
"Oh our Grand Lodge officers will say the correct things in public. Get them to a private function however, and the racist talk is more reminiscent of a klan meeting. It is also interesting how many men,not just members but lodge officers, in Oklahoma masonry of men of low repute. I am not blaming the teachings of masonry for this, I am frankly saying that in least in Oklahoma masonry has lowered its standards to such a point as to no longer have any substance or character at all. "
And I also found this quote about black lodges.
""Regardless of the way and manner that ***** Freemasonry arose in America it is today regarded as spurious and illegitimate" (Delmar Duane Darrah, History and Evolution of Freemasonry, as quoted in Cults Sects & Religious Movements by H. Wayne House pp. 148)"
Even some masons admit it's racist or else they wouldn't hold demonstrations.

Freemasonry admits men of all colors.
There was a point in history where the black and white segregation made the admission of blacks into mainstream lodge impossible. During this time, even some black men were initiated and formed their own lodges which were known as Prince Hall after their founder.
The reason people get mad is because ignorace leads into quarrel. It is easy to think you know something about freemasonry when there is so much misinformation about Freemasonry. Saying that Freemasons do not allow blacks is basically calling Freemasonry racist. However, the fact is Freemasonry allows blacks to join mainstream lodges and the historical Prince Hall Lodges. If you approach a Mason telling him he is a racist, he has a just reason to be mad.
If you look beyond the anti masonic propganda, you will find that most mainsteam lodges have recognized and are in fraternal relations with Prince Hall lodges. Freemasonry is color blind.

You should look into this.... they're allowing them to join. lol Ohio and Penn. lodges have been allowing them for almost 10 yrs now.
It's a Private Organization..... Only Men can join (which is being changed as well...rofl). But these types of organizations can decline ANYONE. And it's not as segregated as you're letting on... Sure, in the past it was VERY segregated. But it's not anymore. 2 Muslims, one from Saudi Arabia, are members of my husbands lodge. I know of 2 lodges in Ohio that have allowed blacks to join. And surprisingly enough, not too many people said anything about it.
You're right, Prince Hall (which is what they're called), doesn't have any connection to the Scottish or York Rite... I'm sure with all the other changes the lodges are going through, this will change too.

What does it matter? So what. As a white man there are things that I can't join that are black based. Why must all white based groups be open to all but everyone else can pick and choose? Discrimination is dicrimination. We have the Miss Black America pageant. If we had a Miss White America, people wld be losing their minds. But, to answer your question, Freemasonry is not against having black members. I do not care what someone wrote and you read. I have been in lodges that have no problema nd in lodges that do have a problem. They do not speak for all of Freemasonry. If you want to get deeper, some Freemason lodges do not allow non-Christians either. It doesn't speak for the entire order. you just have bigoted people in every walk of life and of every race and skin color.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but my father in law is a mason. His lodge has a range of colours, from Scottish pale-skinned red heads to a Kenyan (*****). Their darkest member is actually from southern India.
Clearly, though it may vary from lodge to lodge, and country to country. Lodges, while they may not officially bar blacks, may have done so in an informal manner. That is an indictment of the individuals within the lodge, not of freemasonry itself.

The Mason's are a very large and powerful organization here and over the free world and have been for centuries. Many of our politicians are Masons and how they got elected are the result of the Masons backing.

A good question, but a loaded one. People are very sensitive about this kind of issue and I'm loath to hear some of the answers. Insecurities is one thing that comes to mind when people get upset over such trivial things. Every time a minority (I use that word loosely) is not allowed to join someones tree-house club, they shout about racism, bigotry and hate. I wonder about this every time I flip past (yes I keep on flipping) BET, walk past a magazine rack full of Black men's Health, Black Hair, Black business, Black this and black that. It's one thing to take pride in the achievements of your culture, but I think it's another to whine about exclusion when your culture has the most accepted racially exclusive business practices on earth. All in all I don't care who isn't included in who's little club, why is it politically acceptable for blacks to excludes other races from their ventures while it's racist for the opposite to occur? My fiance is black and she even agrees that her race is far too sensitive on the matter. She says that blacks try desperately to compensate for the lower class blacks of America, statistics hurt their culture and they try to balance it out by putting every contribution they make on a pedestal.
I didn't say it had anything to do with their imagination, I pretty much said that I think they are just overly sensitive, that's why they get mad. Perhaps you should re-read MY post?

It has to do with their concepts on God and faith in many situations. It conflicts with some teachings of the Roman Catholic Church that all and sundry religions are no longer equivalent. there is not any such factor as any illuminati today or any of the idiotic Dan Brown conspiracy concept/entertainment rubbish. i think of technically it must be large today to connect, even though it replaced into banned interior the previous.
