My wife travels in her job. Her daughter is 25 and is currently living with us. She works a fulltime job etc. Everynight when we all go to bed, she closes her door to her bedroom.
The last 2 trips my wife has been out of town, the daughter leaves her bedroom door wide open.
My bedroom is directly across the hall, and i don't know but it's just wierd that she only does this when her mother is out of town.
am i just being reading to much into this.

she walks around in her pajamas, at times leaves her g-string panties on the stairs leading up to the bedroom area. The laundry room is down stairs on the main floor.

besides the door, has her behavior changed? suddenly "forgetting" to put clothes on, and such, either before she leaves her room, or even lounging around her room scantily clad? then i'd worry... other than that she may just be more comfortable around you than her mom... are there any tensions between mother and daughter? that may just be her way of saying she thinks you're cool and is "open" to you [just] as a person... good luck!

You could be reading a bit to much into this. Or maybe she has feelings towards you.
I think that the best way to do this is to confront her as to why she does that. Prefrebly not infront of her mom.
Thats what i would think. Chat to her. I get along perfectly well with my step mom & my step brother & sisters. If my step mom has something to ask me she comes to me directly not that we have had any major issues with each other or anything. Even though my dad is an advocate & travels to represent in court.

It sounds like she's starving for male attention. Tell her politely, when you aren't in an awkward sitution, that you would appreciate her taking more care with her modesty when she is in your home. She knows better, she's simply trying to get male attention. At this point, I would leave it alone otherwise, because if you were to try to become better bonded with her in a step-fatherly way, she would probably misconstrue it.....steer clear and hopefully she will find a more appropriate man to get attention from.

Sounds like she is up to something. When your wife is out of town, shut the step-daughter's door yourself when you go to bed. When she says something to you about it, tell her if she needs to shut it when her mom is home, then it can stay shut when she's not. You don't need that kinda bull and neither does your wife.

Be very careful. I had the very same experience with my step daughter, it transpires that she tries to emulate her mother in all ways, subconsciously, only she feels a sort of competition between her and her mother, this includes me. Close YOUR door, you are walking on potentially dangerous ground.

perhaps she leaves the door closed when mom is home so you can have your privacy? with mom gone she knows there won't be activity so she is not concerned.
if your relationship with her has always been pure and no flirtation by either her or you then i would not worry about it. have you mentioned this to mom? maybe she can shed some light. i'm sure she would ask her straight up.

Keep shutting her door tell her it made you feel uncomfortable since she doesn't mind it closed when your wife is at home but just talk to her openly and beware.

Talk to her openly. but shut your door anyway.You have a 25 year old woman living in the house so tread carefully.She may well have feelings for you.
