Even if you don't like to see a doctor, you should see the doctor. People here can't diagnose if you have breast cancer.

Hello take a deep breath....now. You must be very scared of something that may not be anything it all.
Ask yourself this, what are your risk factors.
Family history of breast cancer?
What is it that makes you believe its cancer?
What you should look for:
Any discharge from the nipple.
Any discoloration of the skin?
Any lump that has been getting bigger or more tender?
If yes to any you should have it checked by an M.D.
At your age many girls have lumps on their breast that are from hormones and some may be fibroids. These are not malignant but should be under the care of a M.D.
If the M.D. suspects something you'll first get mammogram and an Ultra Sound with these tests the M.D. will have a good idea what could be going on.
Now sleeping with your bra is fine it does not cause cancer.
and family support is always needed during times of stress, you should not carry all the burden of this or any other concerns you have about life. It's O.K. to say I need help.
There are free clinics too that can help.
Don't worry my guess is that you're fine, but lets make sure see your M.D. God Bless.

Hon I am living proof that being fat and sleeping in a bra does not cause cancer. DD chest, it's more comfortable for me to sleep in a sport bra. Anyway, what makes you think you may have cancer? It is VERY unlikely for a 19 year old to have breast cancer. If you are feeling a bump, it's more likely to be a little water cyst or even a bug bite. At any rate, tell your mom about what has you so worked up, and then see a Dr, if for no other reason than to be 100% sure and let you breathe easy.

You don't mention whether you noticed a lump or if your breast is just sore or what breast changes, if any, have taken place. Your problem most likely is due to mastitis, inflammation of the mammary glands. This inflammation seems to occur between periods and is quite common.
I have slept with my bra on for years...no cancer yet. My aunt died from breast cancer and she was very particular about her weight, took excellent care of herself, exercised daily and ate only the best foods (cottage cheese salads, etc.)
If it is a lump you felt, it is possible it is just a benign tumor or cyst. My sister was 16 when she had to have one removed.
Go to the doctor to check it out anyway just to be sure if you noticed a lump or other change out of the ordinary. My aunt disliked going to the doctor and that is why she is not here today. If she had gone when she noticed a change in her breast it could have saved her.
Breast cancer lumps are generally "painless" initially as with most cancerous tumors.
