This question is mostly aimed to people who have scientific background.
1st we are all made from matter (molecules atoms etc) matter is dead
All these molecules make complex structures (proteins DNA) i believe dead
Then all of these proteins and ions and DNA RNA make cells (living? or dead?)
then all these cells make organs and humans and animals (living or dead?)

At what stage do we cross between the living and the dead?

The definition of "living" is rather vague. There is no "stage" we cross where we're living or dead. There's no exact line there.

In general, "living" means a process that is self-mending and self-perpetuating. With complex life, like humans, we generally give the label "alive" if the person's brain is still functioning. So, someone in a coma is considered alive. However, in cases like the Shiavo case, one could argue that the brain deteriorated so much that the person really isn't living. Though, many people considered her alive because her automatic functions were still functioning, even if her mental faculties weren't there. However, even in that state, Shiavo still probably had more mental faculties than, say, a jellyfish, and we consider jellyfish to be alive.

There is still debate on whether to classify viruses as being alive or not.

Its the consciousness that makes what we call as living.

The ancient Vedic Scriptures explain beautifully that its the consciousness which is the symptom of life - like somke is symptom of fire.

This consciousness comes from the soul. As long as the soul is in the matter (body) there is life (consciousness). The moment the soul leaves the body we call that body dead. All other elements are still present but the soul has rejected the body and hence it is dead.

who really knows, the point of being alive and dying? according to the bible , no one knows, except God. no one knows, when you'll go or time or hour.doesn't matter when or how, but at least you would have been allowed time to take of it.
