As a single guy who has 3 nights and 4 days to go on vacation, would you choose Bangkok, Thailand or Cebu City, Philippines and why?

Cebu for the beautiful beaches and more relaxed atmosphere.

For my money Bangkok, but it depends on why you want to spend your time in either city. Living in Bangkok and having travelled to Cebu on a number of occasions I can tell you that although Cebu has a nice beach or two it is as boring as hell.

Actually, I would choose Cebu, if for the only reason that I have been there on several occasions.
Also, however, recent bombings have been reported in Bangkok around last xmas/new year, so I would be a bit leery of travel there.
If you're interested in meeting girls, believe me, there are plenty and they are beautifukl and sweet in the Phillipines. I know - I married one. Good luck mate.

Well... I've been to both and it's really hard to tell what you want to do. If you want a 'quiet little holiday" then cebu it is. It's nice and relaxing with lots of sandy beaches. But, depending on when you go, you have to be careful of typhoons. If you want a 'fun little holiday', then I suggest you go to Bangkok. I've been there 3 times and I've loved it everytime. The people are open to new ideas and appreciate anything you do. They don't judge and don't care who or what you sleep with. If you go to BKK, just make sure that you don't get ripped off and bullied into going to a place where you don't want to go...simply say no and get out. Also, make sure that you have your belongings with you at all times and don't take a cab without a meter. Costs of both CEBU and BKK are similar, although in BKK you are likely to get more for your dollar in terms of things to see, eat, etc... You can also get to places in and around bangkok for cheap. I hired a tour guide for 20 bucks a day and he took me around the town and showed me all the sites...it was pretty neat. The weather in both places are hot and humid, but that's southeast asia for you. BKK has some of the greatest temples in the world if you are interested in buddhism. The thai people also love their king and if you go, you will see so many people wearing yellow shirts, as this is the color of their beloved king. Drinks are pretty standard fare in thailand and will be just less than what you are paying now. If you go to the main tourist areas in bkk as well, you will be asked to tip and in CEBU they don't even know the word 'tip'. You can take an outside bangkok trip for about 35 dollars to go to the bridge of the river quay, to ride elephants, as well as pet tigers at the tiger sanctuary...as seen on the discovery channel. You might even get to ride in the back of a pickup truck that is made to serve as a taxi. Both places are very fantastic and I wish you a happy holiday. Trebor

Depends on what you want from your trip.
Single guy? Wanna hook up with some single women? Both cities are great....Bangkok is easier.....Cebu is cheaper.

Ranking by points received after Thailand are Greece, Denmark, Italy, Spain, Brazil, USA, France, UK, and Sweden. Thai Airways also received the best international airline in the same survey. The results based on the feed back from over 300 tour companies.
Besides, Thailand also named "The Top Value For-Money Countries" by Chicago Tribune on Jan 7, 2007. The decision was made based on the Country Brand Index 2006. Other countries in the top 10 are Indonesia, USA, Turkey, Spain, India, Vietnam, Singapore, Greece and Hungary.
