Yes, I do. They have one thing that the world needs. That's an abundant oil supply. Secondly, between the US & Russia they have over 23,000 nuclear warheads. They have a very good space program. When they were engaged in Afghanistan they killed over a million Afghans. They have killed hundreds of thousands of Chechnians. They are brutal and will even risk the lives of their own people to obtain their objectives. Their economy is improving with time. They have made inroads throughout the world and in the Middle East region as far as diplomatic matters. They are friends with most of the Islamic nations, and with Israel. And the strange thing is after all the Chechnians they have killed, the Muslim world still courts them. I think they are a superpower today.

No. Any country that can't feed its self will never be a super power. Russia is such a country.

Historically and currently Russia, and the USSR before the collapse of the USSR) has consistently needed to import food to feed its population. This is particularly true during years of drought and devastating winters.

They import not only from the US but from the EU, South American countries and Asia.

From the US they historically import grain and poultry.

Actually bible scholars believe that Russia is prophesied to join up with some Arab nations and march against Israel. This is when the end is near....

The reason we think it is Russia is cause the Bible mentions the lands Magog, Tubal, and Rosh coming against Israel in a attack. These areas are now Russia.

As for the Arab nations I'm not sure I forgot.... But Persia(Iran and Iraq), Egypt, and Togarmah(Turkey) I sure are some of them.

They already are a super power, but under cover.
Russia always is capable and has always been the type of country that if anybody bothers them, Look out.
They have excellent weapons many which is of better quality than the us. They have more nuclear weapons than the us.

Russia is doing pretty well and i think we need them to create a bot of a balance along with europe and china.

If it will, it will take a while for this to happen.
Does not seem to me that Russia is a modern country. A country to become a superpower needs to be adapted to the modernization of the present time.
A president whom supports torture, for me is a dictator.

there is a big possibility....even if the soviet has collapsed it doesnt literally mean that the spirit collapse with it...it might be just a matter of time and i am afraid that we might be surprise with its rising.....cos i have a hunch that they might be not alone this time....i just hope that it wont be a chaotic soviet comeback...we people,we will always find and try new or old ways to satisfy our own greed that is why we really have trouble how to keep peace and order in the world.

Any country who has the capability of launching Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles(ICBM's), is a form of "superpower" in my opinion.
On the other hand, they will never return to their former state of the ability to fearmonger because the former Union of Soviet Socialist Republics(U.S.S.R.) is too fractured.

powerful but not the type they before the Soviet Unions breakup

instead of nukes....it their energy supplies and companies that will make then a powerful player in the world,,,,,,,,,,,,,

the general rule in the modern era is after a major collapse or transformation it takes mid size countries 40 year to stabilize.......big countries like Russia,,,have further adjustment after 70 years to correct course....then can stabilize after another 50 years..............
